Island Veterinary Services has an extensive in house laboratory facility offering
- Feline FELV/FIV/Heartworm test
- Canine heartworm and tick disease testing
-Canine Parvo test
-Fecal test for internal parasites such as worms, Giardia and Cocccidia
- Urinalysis
- CBC and blood chemistry
- Skin scraping for Demodectic and Sarcoptic mange, ringworm, yeast and bacterial over growth
- Cytology, including squash preps, staining and microscopic examination and interpretation
- Diabetes screening and insulin monitoring
We also utilize IDEXX Laboratories for histology, culture/sensitivity, thyroid testing as well as a full range of diagnostic test. Louisiana State University and other tertiary labs provide us with the most up to date and innovative testing for your pet to ensure comprehensive diagnostics are available for your pet's work up.
